Dr. Jellinek – Panel Facilitator
Dr. Jellinek earned his undergraduate degree at Columbia College and his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, completed pediatrics training at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center, and residencies in child psychiatry at Children’s Hospital Medical Center, and in psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital. Currently he is Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry and of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Jellinek was Chief of Child Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital for 32 years from 1979-2012. He is currently Co-Chair of the AACAP Financial Planning Committee and served on the Journal of Editorial Board from 1992-2012.
Dr. Jellinek has written or co-written over 300 original reports, articles and chapters, and served as Editor for the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Bright Futures in Practice: Mental Health. With Michael Murphy, Ed.D, he developed the Pediatric Symptom Checklist, which is a widely used brief screening instrument to help primary care pediatricians identify children with emotional problems.
Dr. Jellinek has served in several administrative positions including Senior Vice President for Administration at Massachusetts General Hospital (1996-2000), President, Newton Wellesley Hospital, Newton, MA, (2001-2012), as Chief Clinical Officer, Partners HealthCare (2012-2014) and as CEO, Community Network and EVP, Lahey Health System (2014-2017). Currently Dr. Jellinek is working in the Community Benefits Program at Newton Wellesley Hospital, does management consulting and teaches in the Child Psychiatry Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital.
